It is already March and Taunton Sinfonietta is planning for our next concert, featuring the Taunton Sinfonietta Ensemble. This will be an evening of chamber music including Schubert's Octet, so a definite date for the diary. The concert is on Saturday 6th May at 7.30 in St James Church, Taunton. If you cannot wait that long, some of us are playing with Taunton Choral Society on Saturday 22nd April where the highlight will be Mozart's Requiem. An extra treat that day will be more chamber music, Spohr's Nonet, a lovely piece that deserves to be better known.

As if this was not enough, the Somerset Song Prize semi-finals and finals will be held on Sunday 14th May during the day at Temple Methodist Church in Taunton. There is a distinguished panel of judges and the event promises to be fantastic. Tickets are available now, and further details are available at www.somersetsongprize.org.uk
