Dear Patrons, Friends and Supporters,
Our next concert is less than four weeks away, and we hope to see you there. On September 14th at 7.30 pm in St James Church Taunton, we have an exciting programme featuring music from the Baroque to the early 20th century. There will be baroque fireworks with the Concerto for Four Violins by Vivaldi, and another of Albinoni's delightful concerti grossi. The 1st of eight 'Concerti per Quartet' by Francesco Durante shows this lesser known Neopolitan composer's operatic flair. Whilst better known for his sacred compositions, we were delighted to find this instrumental gem. A firm favourite, the Elgar Serenade for Strings, a beautiful Tchaikovsky Andante, and the Max Bruch Serenade based on Swedish melodies complete the programme. This last mentioned piece is a very enjoyable work, and should be performed more often!

Please keep December 1st in your diary and come and hear this year's TYM winner Bibi Redford play the Haydn Piano Concerto in D. I was at the competition final and she is a stunning player.
