Dear friends, patrons and supporters,

Our next concert is now just over a month away, on June 10th 7.30pm in St James Church ,Taunton. We welcome back Lynn Carter with more of her luscious oboe sounds, who will play a delightful concerto by C P E Bach, and will be joined by director Mary in the beautiful double concerto for oboe and violin by his father Johann Sebastian. We present another of the opus 5 concerti grossi by Albinoni, and include some folk music in 'An Irish Melody' by Frank Bridge. Also from the 20th century, we have the 'Little music for String Orchestra', written by Sir Michael Tippett as a bit of light relief between some of his more major works. To warm you up we have included two short pieces in romantic vein, Drobnosti by Dvorak, and 'La Califfa' by Morricone, arranged for solo oboe with strings and orchestral piano.
